Microsoft Teams Channel Setup

Add the Risotto bot to your team in Microsoft Teams and configure it as a request source so users can submit requests and Risotto can respond.
1

Add the Risotto bot to your team

In the Microsoft Teams desktop app, add the Risotto bot to the team where you want users to submit requests.
2

Open Request Sources in Risotto

In the Risotto dashboard, open Settings → Request Sources and select the Microsoft Teams channel you want to use.
3

Turn off Silent mode

Make sure Silent mode is turned off so Risotto replies in the channel. When Silent mode is on, Risotto processes requests without posting responses.
4

Verify your settings

Confirm the channel is enabled as a request source and that Silent mode is configured the way you want.

Test Your Setup

After adding the bot and configuring the channel:
  1. Tag the Risotto bot in the channel and ask a simple question.
  2. Confirm a ticket is created — Risotto should respond and open a ticket for your request.
  3. Verify the ticket is handled as expected — for example, that it escalates when it can’t be resolved automatically.

Next Steps

Once Microsoft Teams is set up and tested:
  1. Complete your organization setup
  2. Begin testing Risotto with your team
  3. Configure additional settings as needed for your organization
