# Microsoft Teams App Setup

> Connect Risotto to Microsoft Teams and deploy the app to your organization

# Connect Risotto to MS Teams

Connect Risotto to your Microsoft Teams environment and deploy the official Risotto app so it's available to everyone in your organization.

  Unlike Slack, Risotto uses an official Microsoft Teams app. There is no custom
  or self-hosted app to build.

<Note>
  **Before you begin**, make sure you have:

  * Admin access to the Microsoft Teams admin center ([admin.teams.microsoft.com](https://admin.teams.microsoft.com))
  * Access to the Risotto dashboard

## Connect Microsoft Teams in Risotto

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings">
    In the Risotto dashboard ([dashboard.tryrisotto.com](https://dashboard.tryrisotto.com)),
    open **Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Integrations">
    Go to **Integrations -> All** and find Microsoft Teams under the **Chat**
    section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect Microsoft Teams">
    Click **Connect** beside Microsoft Teams. You'll be forwarded to a Microsoft
    consent screen. Make sure you're logged in as a user with admin privileges.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Consent to the requested permissions">
    Review and accept the requested permission scopes. Granting consent gives Risotto everything it needs to operate in your Microsoft Teams instance.
  </Step>

## Install and deploy the app

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Teams admin center">
    Go to [admin.teams.microsoft.com](https://admin.teams.microsoft.com) and sign in with an admin account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Go to Apps">
    Navigate to **Teams apps → Manage apps** in the admin center.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install the Risotto app">
    Find the Risotto app and install it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Deploy the app for everyone">
    Deploy the Risotto app so it's available to all users across your
    organization.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for the app to propagate">
    Allow about **5 minutes** for the app to become available across Microsoft Teams before continuing.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Microsoft Teams can take a few minutes to make a newly deployed app available.
  If the Risotto app doesn't appear yet, wait a few minutes and refresh before
  continuing.
